Surprisingly enough, from Castle Street you get a great view of the castle sitting proudly and resplendently upon its rock. What better backdrop is there than that? The hustle and bustle of the market in the foreground add to the atmosphere.
Edinburgh - the jewel in Scotland's crown, UNESCO world heritage site and the first UNESCO city of literature...inspiration for writers such as Sir Walter Scott, Robert Louis Stevenson, Irvine Welsh, Ian Rankin and JK Rowling. Our capital and home to about 500,000 people. Come and take a look...you're all very welcome.

Nice photo. Did you use a tripod? We're getting a christmas German market soon, so expect a photo or two to appear on my site.
no tripod...just a steady hand that day...hadn't been to the pub yet! The German market will be coming at the start of December to Edinburgh as the city kicks into its winter festival season
