Festive Edinburgh
The bright lights of the attractions in Princes Street Gardens during the Christmas and Hogmanay period really help lift the spirits of us weary Edinburghers who are desperate for the Christmas holidays to arrive. It's a real pleasure to spend time enjoying what the city has to offer in this festive period.

Such a enormous picture as big!
Where was you taking it from? Fine work!
Hey Grant--love your blog--I'm hoping to visit Scotland some day. Can you enlighten this ignorant American: what's Hogmanay?
Hogmanay is what we in Scotland call New Year's Eve. Traditionally it's the most important festival of the year in Scotland, and only in the last 20 years or so has Christmas matched it for importance. I think for most Scots, Christmas is the family time and Hogmanay is the friends time.
Looks like fun!
You know, I have to say this...based on your photo of yourself, you look just like so many people that I've known. I guess it's because the Southeast U.S. was mostly settled by the Scotts! Did you know that? My ancestors are Scottish as well...like most of the people here.
What a festive capture! Beautiful longexposure really portrays the vibrancy.
What does festibe mean?
Oh the bright lights of the city!
