Double Parking!
Sticking to my Monday transport theme, I'm going to show you the view from our window and something which really bugs me. These two cars have completely blocked the street by their selfish actions. Indeed, last night, the fire brigade was called to an incident further down the street and the fire engine couldn't get up the street because of the cars double parked. I've written to my councillor, but he's from the Labour Party so I don't expect a resolution any time soon. How is the parking problem where you are?

That's NUTS - I was going to post this evening on the subject of double parking - great minds etc etc
Exactly the same selfish actions here with double parking.
nothing like that here! Parking lots costs money but getting caught parking like this costs much much more!!!
small town ,no problem. We still have double parkers though, outside the bank mainly..
Hi Grant, I don't think you could stand the traffic here, although Barcelona is orderly compared to Madrid. I use a bike.
Getting a parking space over here is horrible as well. But parking like there won´t be accepted, they would be immediately towed away. Germany, uh? ;-)
Regards,
The Saint
Not too much of a problem here in Saint Maxime but in the larger towns and cities on the Riviera its nightmare!!
Here in my village it's not really a problem but in other places nearby it's a pain.
parking in the city in general is OK, for those who actually wish to park in town, but round here in leith, it can be a bit of a pain.
Dean - great minds, or something fools seldom differing (doesn't apply to us tho!)
That said, glad we're not the only city with a parking problem and selfish drivers!
Parking...good issue to look at (could be a theme for a day) it is probably not too bad here in Wellington (comparatively). I get upset with the cars that park on the pavements so that pedestrians end up walking on the road.
No double parking like that over here. Also police is too quick and you'll get a ticket in no time. Sometimes people double park on the sidewalk but only so that pedestrians still can pass by. It seems also hard for the "legal parker" to get out of their parking spot if there's a another car double parked, no?
Our pet hate is the people who park across the dropped kerbs so folk in wheelchairs can't cross. Some of the culprits have disabled stickers on their cars and you'd think they'd know better. Sometimes I've put notes on their windscreen and then seen them drive off with the notes still attached!
