My daily view

This is the view from the front of the school, and the view I get from most of the classrooms I teach in. In the foreground you have the new PE block and the adjacent special school and beyond we have a fabulous view over the Pentland Hills. The three bigger hills are called Allermuir, Braidlaw and Caerketton...I know this because these are the names of the three houses we have in the school. For those unfamiliar with a house system, think Harry Potter and Gryffindor, Slytherin etc. What's your view like from work?

Your photo reminded me that the people who settled my valley were of Scots origin and I can see why, although our "hills" are still mountains. One of our local churches is St. Margaret of Scotland (Catholic) and although catholics are few in western North Carolina, the name reflects the heritage. I like your site - it's wonderful!

Very nice!! And what a lovely day, too. Well, I normally see rooftops of houses and apartments from my classrooms. In other schools.., away from the center of the city I might see this view too..,if I look farther!

Grant, such a view should improve ones mood as the work day challenges meet. It might also inspire some day dreaming on the part of students and teachers.

BlondeTown, your comment that your hills are still mountains is interesting an accurate.

it does lighten my mood to loom out and see the hills. one problem though is that the classrooms that have this view are south-facing and suffer from 'solar-gain'! In other words, it's too bloody hot when the sun shines so you have to close the blinds!

This is a great view! Those mountains look very rocky though...not as green as I would have wanted them to be
