View from Arthur's Seat

Slapped wrists for me, I've missed my first day! It was end of term for us teachers here yesterday so I was out from about 1pm till rather late. When teachers get together and there's alcohol involved, time just seems to pass by in a drunken haze! It was the first time I'd been out for a proper night out since the smoking ban came in - it was fantastic!! Thank you Scottish Executive!! Anyway, I thought I'd post a picture early today as it's the weekend and to make up for yesterday. We've had a few street close-ups, but here's another majestic view of the city looking from Arthur's Seat. Happy April Fools' Day!

it's getting warmer marieta! and I was remarkably hangover-free yesterday morning. yeah luminlight, lots of edinburgh buildings have been around for hundreds of years, and the oldest ones are the most expensive.

I'm so glad Scotland has deciding to go for a smoking ban. Hopefully the rest of the UK will follow suit. How is it working out there? In Ireland, there were very few problems at all.

smoking ban has been pretty uneventful so far. no pubs closed...yet and largely self-policing. people are still reaching for their cigarettes in pubs out of habit, but then remembering they have to go outside. the air is so much cleaner inside!!
