Edinburgh Cuisine
Edinburgh does have many fine restaurants which showcase some of the best of Scottish produce and cooking. However, our fish 'n' chip shops have a tendency to deep-fry in batter anything that sits still long enough. One "delight" you may come across in Edinburgh is the deep-fried mars bar...yes, it is as disgusting as it sounds! Bizarrely enough, they are usually found in chippies owned by 2nd or 3rd generation Italian-Scots!

I read a story about a chippie in Glasgow doing a new special called a "stonner" - a deep-friend doner kebab! They had to put a health warning in the shop warning customers not too eat too many of them!

I got addicted to Mars Bars when I was a student in Scotland. Learned to love haggis too, but either of them deep-fried in batter is horrid!
you people are all crazy, theyre incredible. seriously, i dont know a single person who dislikes them, but their arteries might have something else to say.
